Ira Nowinski is a portrait and performance photographer who captures the essence of the literary, performing, and visual arts. His remarkable photographs have been collected extensively by prestigious institutions, such as the UC Berkeley’s Bancroft Library, the Stanford University Library Special Collections, the Library of Congress, the Bibliothèque nationale de France, the Museum of Modern Art in New York, and the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.

Nowinski lives in San Francisco and is a San Francisco Art Institute graduate. He is not only a talented photographer; he is also a passionate book author who published half a dozen books.
