These land Iguanas live on Plaza Sur, a small island adjacent to the eastern shore of Santa Cruz. The island is divided into two zones, a restricted zone where the breeding areas are located and a tourist zone that has a path where a large number of Iguanas live.

Marine Iguanas are found throughout the archipelago, and there is a stable population of over 200.000 individuals, found on most of the islands. This Iguana is unique in that it feeds on marine algae under water, and is found in the coastal zone. The Marine Iguanas on this page were photographed on Santa Cruz Island.
